South Wales Echo - - AUTUMN INTERNATIONAL - LEIGH HALFPENNY LIAM WILLIAMS JONATHAN DAVIES ROB EVANS

Bravery headed off an Aussie try out wide, even if they did cross the whitewash seconds later. Halfpenny kicked well enough at goal and provided the assist for Evans’s score. No fireworks, but there was a fair bit to admire here.

Let Kurtley Beale know he was around with a tackle that must have felt like a ton of bricks smashing into him. One run towards end saw Williams escape from a situation so unpromising Houdini might have given up on it. Went for the wrong man when Genia put Coleman over, but tackled hard and no prop has a right to handle as Evans handled against the Wallabies. He looked every inch the modern front rower, one who worked tirelessly around the field, contributed to attacking movements while not neglecting the basics. Considering it was his first game back, his was a particularly fine effort.
