Au­tumn re­vamp for The Pot Bistro

HAV­ING set up in 2014, and now es­tab­lished as one of Cardiff’s most renowned in­de­pen­dent restaurants, The Pot Bistro in Whitchurch Road has just un­der­gone an au­tumn re­fur­bish­ment, along with some menu ad­di­tions that are sure to ap­peal to food afi­ciona­dos and ca­sual din­ers alike.

Now show­ing off a new bar area, in which din­ers can en­joy a pre-meal cock­tail be­fore be­ing seated, the new menu fea­tures tasty nib­bles and ‘Petit Plats’ (small plates), which is the chef’s take on ta­pas, while in­cor­po­rat­ing a French/Welsh in­flu­ence. Dishes in­clude thyme-bat­tered frogs legs, char­cu­terie, steak tar­tar, cock­les and laver bread and baked camem­bert.

For midweek din­ers The Pot Bistro has some fan­tas­tic evening of­fers, in­clud­ing steak Tues­days, on which two steaks are ac­com­pa­nied by a free bot­tle of house wine.

Be­tween Tues­day and Fri­day there is the op­tion of two cour­ses, plus a glass of wine for £20.

Owner, Laura Keogh said: “We re­alise that not ev­ery­one can af­ford to eat out all the time, so this is a pop­u­lar op­tion with our reg­u­lars! Please en­sure that you pre-book steak Tues­day though as this can sell out in no time at all!”

Take the strain away on a Sun­day and en­joy the Sun­day shar­ing platter. A com­bi­na­tion of all the roast din­ners on a sin­gle platter – per­fect for shar­ing be­tween two! And the Christ­mas menu is now avail­able for all De­cem­ber book­ings.

The Pot Bistro prides it­self on be­ing a fam­ily res­tau­rant and in turn fam­ily friendly. Chil­dren of all ages are catered for, with chang­ing fa­cil­i­ties avail­able, along with chil­dren’s cut­lery, crock­ery and colour­ing in books to keep them en­ter­tained through­out the meal.

The res­tau­rant also prides it­self on cater­ing well for gluten free/coeliac spe­cial­ist di­ets, with 80+% of the menu avail­able as a gluten-free op­tion.

The re­fur­bish­ment and the newly-re­vamped menu are a sign­post for some great days and fan­tas­tic cui­sine ahead.
