Autumn revamp for The Pot Bistro
HAVING set up in 2014, and now established as one of Cardiff’s most renowned independent restaurants, The Pot Bistro in Whitchurch Road has just undergone an autumn refurbishment, along with some menu additions that are sure to appeal to food aficionados and casual diners alike.
Now showing off a new bar area, in which diners can enjoy a pre-meal cocktail before being seated, the new menu features tasty nibbles and ‘Petit Plats’ (small plates), which is the chef’s take on tapas, while incorporating a French/Welsh influence. Dishes include thyme-battered frogs legs, charcuterie, steak tartar, cockles and laver bread and baked camembert.
For midweek diners The Pot Bistro has some fantastic evening offers, including steak Tuesdays, on which two steaks are accompanied by a free bottle of house wine.
Between Tuesday and Friday there is the option of two courses, plus a glass of wine for £20.
Owner, Laura Keogh said: “We realise that not everyone can afford to eat out all the time, so this is a popular option with our regulars! Please ensure that you pre-book steak Tuesday though as this can sell out in no time at all!”
Take the strain away on a Sunday and enjoy the Sunday sharing platter. A combination of all the roast dinners on a single platter – perfect for sharing between two! And the Christmas menu is now available for all December bookings.
The Pot Bistro prides itself on being a family restaurant and in turn family friendly. Children of all ages are catered for, with changing facilities available, along with children’s cutlery, crockery and colouring in books to keep them entertained throughout the meal.
The restaurant also prides itself on catering well for gluten free/coeliac specialist diets, with 80+% of the menu available as a gluten-free option.
The refurbishment and the newly-revamped menu are a signpost for some great days and fantastic cuisine ahead.
A regular inhabitant of the top 20 restaurants in Cardiff on Trip Advisor, the reviews reflect the esteem in which the restaurant is held by diners and food bloggers alike. In a world of restaurant chains, try a little of the Pot Bistro.
