Driver injured after car flips over onto roof at roundabout
A DRIVER was taken to hospital after flipping his car onto it’s roof at the Fairway roundabout in Southport .
The driver is thought to have entered the roundabout from Fairway in order to exit onto Marine Drive before the vehicle, rolled onto its roof.
The incident occurred at around 8.10pm on Tuesday, December 27.
A red Vauxhall Corsa was overturned on the roundabout and the driver had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency services.
Only one vehicle was involved in the accident and no passengers were in the car at the time.
Fortunately, the driver only sustained minor injuries.
The car was recovered from the scene and the road was reopened a short time later.
The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene of the accident and was then transported to hospital via ambulance as a precaution.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “The accident has been referred to the force roads policing team but no offences are being pursued in relation to the incident.”
The driver of the vehicle is not being investigated for any crime or offence.
