Driver in­jured af­ter car flips over onto roof at round­about

A DRIVER was taken to hos­pi­tal af­ter flip­ping his car onto it’s roof at the Fair­way round­about in South­port .

The driver is thought to have en­tered the round­about from Fair­way in or­der to exit onto Marine Drive be­fore the ve­hi­cle, rolled onto its roof.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred at around 8.10pm on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 27.

A red Vaux­hall Corsa was over­turned on the round­about and the driver had to be re­moved from the ve­hi­cle by emer­gency ser­vices.

Only one ve­hi­cle was in­volved in the ac­ci­dent and no pas­sen­gers were in the car at the time.

For­tu­nately, the driver only sus­tained mi­nor in­juries.

The car was re­cov­ered from the scene and the road was re­opened a short time later.

The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene of the ac­ci­dent and was then trans­ported to hos­pi­tal via ambulance as a pre­cau­tion.

A spokesper­son for Mersey­side Po­lice said: “The ac­ci­dent has been re­ferred to the force roads polic­ing team but no of­fences are be­ing pur­sued in re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent.”

The driver of the ve­hi­cle is not be­ing in­ves­ti­gated for any crime or of­fence.
