Hotel takeover pure Bliss for new owners
THE Ramada Plaza Hotel in Southport has new owners. The team behind Bliss Investment Partners (BIP) say they are “hugely excited” by their acquisition, which they aim to use to grow the company across the UK.
The Ramada Plaza employs more than 100 members of staff and is the the top-rated hotel in Southport according to TripAdvisor. It also holds the distinguished Travellers Choice Award.
BIP aims to work with the successful team in charge at the hotel: general manager, Enda Rylands; deputy manager Lisa Little and sales office manager Nicky Goodwin.
With Royal Birkdale hosting the Open Golf Championship in 2017, the hotel will remain a prime destination for tourists and professionals alike.
BIP managing partners, Robert Agsteribbe and Daniel Broch, said: “We are hugely excited about this acquisition. We love the business and particularly the great team of people; we’re so pleased that Enda, Lisa and Nicky will be joining us as fellow shareholders in the newlyformed company, Bliss Hotels.
“We are also very proud to be a significant business in Southport and we’re keen to discover more about our new location.
“Bliss Hotels is a new venture for us. This acquisition locks in a great property with an established and highly-effective management team which provides the perfect platform from which to grow the company across further locations in the UK.”
Ramada Plaza Hotel general manager, Enda Rylands, said: “We are delighted BIP has stepped in, which is no coincidence, as BIP joint managing partner, Robert Agsteribbe, originally set the hotel up eight years ago.
“In my six years as general manager, the hotel has established itself as a firm favourite in the area for leisure guests visiting our wonderful seaside resort, for conference clients and for events, whether it be weddings, charity functions or sportsman’s dinners.
“With BIP’s support and commitment we look forward to achieving even greater success in the future.”
Hotel deputy manager, Lisa Little, said: “For us it means local control and jobs for local people, real community ownership.
“The hotel currently employs over 100 staff and we want to use this opportunity to revitalise the hotel again in 2017.
“With exciting new plans and the brilliant Marine Brasserie in our leisure assets, we are confident we are going from a great hotel to a truly amazing one.
“With this being very much in line with Southport’s vision for growth plan, this backing is the springboard we need.”
Hotel sales office manager, Nicky Goodwin, said: “Having been part of the initial opening team back in 2008, this feels like the start of a new beginning for the hotel.
“I have enjoyed the first eight years creating a successful hotel and to be part of the team looking to its future success is an amazing feeling.”
