CHILDREN from Bishop David Sheppard CE Primary School visited the residents of Barchester Sutton Grange Care Home for a festive performance.

Their performance included classical poetry recitals, songs, stories and dancing.

Children from Year 2 of the Devonshire Road school recited the classical poem The Owl And The Pussy Cat by Edward Lear and Year 3 recited ’Twas The Night Before Christmas.

Some of the children did individual turns: Alessia sang Romanian Christmas carols; Ferdi read the passage The Birth of Christ from Luke1 in the Bible; Caitlin read a story that she had written; and Simon performed a dance.

Both the children and the residents enjoyed spending time in each other’s company.
