Parkrun perfect for blind runners

Southport Visiter - - Visiter Active -

DUE to being registered blind I have never been able to do a proper outdoor ‘run’ – I’ve walked but never run!

And thanks to Southport parkrun and their amazing guide runners I’ve just done my fifth parkrun and got a new PB each week.

I am absolutely loving it – it’s a great community, really positive and something I never ever thought I would be able to do.

It’s great that people of all ages and fitness are getting out on a Saturday morning to do such a brilliant thing and the volunteers who put the time and effort in to organise this are awesome. The writer of the Letter of the Week wins a box of cakes from Lilibets of Paris, Southport. To collect your prize take in a copy of your letter together with photo ID to the shop at 24 Stanley Street during opening hours.
