Peaky Blinders bar part of show’s tour
PEAKY Blinders fans are in for a treat as tours of the filming locations from the show are set to hit Southport.
Local fans will know that filming for the show has taken place at Meols Hall and tour co-ordinator Julie Kershaw, of Formby, is hoping to include the historic site in the tours during their annual opening.
Southport’s Peaky Blinders pub will also play a part in the tours, which will centre around the TV crime drama set in Birmingham after the First World War.
Filming for Season 4 of the show is due to start in March with an eye to being aired around October.
Julie Kershaw, who is a Blue Badge Guide, is hoping to take advantage of the worldwide success of the gangster programme with six different tours.
A huge Peaky Blinders buff herself, Julie said: “I have been working as a tour guide for 11 years. I’m a big fan of Peaky Blinders - I’ve been to the premieres in Birmingham and London, and I’ve caught a bit of filming in Liverpool.
“I sort of thought - well, it’s a bit of a no-brainer really!”
The Blue Badge Guide has loved researching her new tours.
Julie said: “It’s not even like work researching it!
“I think I will be as excited as the passengers!“
“There are fans all over the world and they are starting to find their way to Liverpool in an attempt to find some of the filming locations.
“Fans are guaranteed not only a professional, qualified guide but also someone who shares their passion and has done hundreds of hours of research.”
Currently, six tours are on offer, three dedicated Peaky Blinders tours of different lengths and three mixed tours which will combine filming locations with other tourist attractions on Merseyside.
