Gar­den­ers pre­pare to open their gates

AINS­DALE is pre­par­ing for its an­nual open gar­dens week­end.

This year’s event will be held on July 8-9 and there will be plenty of gar­dens for ev­ery­one to en­joy.

Jon Howard will be pro­vid­ing free rides be­tween the gar­dens in his vintage bus to help those with­out trans­port or have prob­lems walk­ing, leav­ing from the Post Of­fice about ev­ery 20 min­utes.

Each year res­i­dents gladly open their gar­dens for oth­ers to en­joy and to help raise funds for the Ains­dale Civic So­ci­ety and char­i­ties sup­ported by the gar­den­ers.

This event is al­ways pop­u­lar, with visi­tors com­ing from all over the North West.

This year there will be 12 gar­dens to visit, en­joy the va­ri­ety of styles and gain ideas from them.

Tick­ets are £5 per per­son and cover ad­mis­sion to all the gar­dens over the two days. Ac­com­pa­nied chil­dren un­der the age of 12 go free.

Tick­ets are avail­able in ad­vance in Ains­dale from: The Choco­late Box, Graysons Bak­ery, Broughs Butch­ers, Howards DIY or di­rectly from the event or­gan­iser, Iris Whitaker who can be con­tacted on 01704 573256.

There will also be an in­for­ma­tion stall out­side the Post Of­fice on the day.
