Gardeners prepare to open their gates
AINSDALE is preparing for its annual open gardens weekend.
This year’s event will be held on July 8-9 and there will be plenty of gardens for everyone to enjoy.
Jon Howard will be providing free rides between the gardens in his vintage bus to help those without transport or have problems walking, leaving from the Post Office about every 20 minutes.
Each year residents gladly open their gardens for others to enjoy and to help raise funds for the Ainsdale Civic Society and charities supported by the gardeners.
This event is always popular, with visitors coming from all over the North West.
This year there will be 12 gardens to visit, enjoy the variety of styles and gain ideas from them.
Tickets are £5 per person and cover admission to all the gardens over the two days. Accompanied children under the age of 12 go free.
Tickets are available in advance in Ainsdale from: The Chocolate Box, Graysons Bakery, Broughs Butchers, Howards DIY or directly from the event organiser, Iris Whitaker who can be contacted on 01704 573256.
There will also be an information stall outside the Post Office on the day.
