Crash mum grateful to everyone

-

A MUM involved in a three-car crash in Southport has thanked staff at a nearby doctors surgery who rushed to help.

Liverpool Road in Birkdale was shut in both directions after a collision between the vehicles, near the junction with Crescent Road, at around 4pm on Tuesday.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area as crews from Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue and North West Ambulance rushed to the scene to help the victims.

The mum was full of priase for people working at The Family Surgery nearby.

She said: “My son and I are both fine and only minor damage to the car.

“I would like to say thank-you to the staff in the doctors surgery.

“They were there in seconds treating the casualties.

“The children went in the surgery and were looked after. Staff in there even offered to drive me and my son home as I was too shaken to drive.

“There was also a lovely lady who lived nearby who looked after me and telephoned my friend to let her know we would not be visiting and generally made sure we were OK.

“It reminds you of the good in the world.”
