Marquee gig for comedian
BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Daliso Chaponda will headline a special Big Comedy night at Southport Rugby Club this October.
The son of a Malawian politician, Daliso came third in Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year.
His stand-up routine mocked Brits who complained about austerity – so much so that he earned Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer.
He began his comedy career in Canada in 2001, later moving to the UK, where he established himself on club circuit. He also appeared in the Big Value shows at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007.
In addition to stand-up, he also writes fiction and is a previous finalist in the L Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest.
On Wednesday, October 11, he will headline an night raising funds for Southport Rugby Football Club at the club’s marquee in Waterloo Road in Hillside.
The event will be hosted by Sam Avery and also feature comedian Micky P Kerr.
Tickets cost £15 with doors opening at 7.30pm and the show at 8.30pm.
