Mar­quee gig for co­me­dian

BRI­TAIN’S Got Tal­ent star Dal­iso Chaponda will head­line a spe­cial Big Com­edy night at South­port Rugby Club this Oc­to­ber.

The son of a Malaw­ian politi­cian, Dal­iso came third in Bri­tain’s Got Tal­ent ear­lier this year.

His stand-up rou­tine mocked Brits who com­plained about aus­ter­ity – so much so that he earned Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer.

He be­gan his com­edy ca­reer in Canada in 2001, later mov­ing to the UK, where he es­tab­lished him­self on club cir­cuit. He also ap­peared in the Big Value shows at the Ed­in­burgh Fringe in 2007.

In ad­di­tion to stand-up, he also writes fic­tion and is a pre­vi­ous fi­nal­ist in the L Ron Hub­bard Writ­ers of the Fu­ture Con­test.

On Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 11, he will head­line an night rais­ing funds for South­port Rugby Foot­ball Club at the club’s mar­quee in Water­loo Road in Hillside.

The event will be hosted by Sam Avery and also fea­ture co­me­dian Micky P Kerr.

Tick­ets cost £15 with doors open­ing at 7.30pm and the show at 8.30pm.
