I NOTE from the Church Times that October 8 is Animal Welfare Sunday – though of course it could be celebrated any Sunday.

Knowing how many in the area covered by your newspaper love animals, I thought that some of your readers might like to get busy straight away. The Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals has a website – www. – and an email address – AngSocWelAni – and a phone number – 01252 843093 – as it is offering orders of service and sermon suggestions on a variety of animal welfare topics plus ideas for young people and children – and all resources can be downloaded free of charge – though, if you had a collection, it would be polite to send them a donation.

I can report that many of us who, one day, took a deep breath and launched into such an event, found it both great fun and very rewarding – and rather a lot to do with our blessed creator! Rev Mrs Angela Robinson
