Join in the fun of the festival
SOUTHPORT Comedy Festival 2017 begins today – and the town is urged to prepare for 18 days filled with fun and laughter.
The festival is amazing for the town, and is now in its 7th year.
People come from all over the country to see what it has to offer – no doubt attracted by huge TV names such as Jason Manford, Jason Byrne and Gary Delaney.
The event is the brainchild of Brendan Riley, a very dedicated, and funny, local comedian.
It’s all about quality, not quantity... and that’s why this year’s event isn’t just bigger but it’s also better than ever before.
It gives local residents and visitors the opportunity to see some of comedy’s top stand-ups performing – not just the best in Britain, but the best from around the world.
World class performers, such as Tom Stade, Rich Hall and Daliso Chaponda are adding an international flavour to this year’s event.
Better yet, tickets to the shows are very affordable, starting at just £3!
The festival also utilises and supports local businesses, and is set to take place throughout 30 Southport venues.
It is filled with a variety of shows that are suitable for people of all ages. There really is something for everyone.
So why not switch off the TV, get off the couch and go and enjoy some superb live comedy?
The 18-day event begins today, and will end on October 22.
