Stolen car dumped in vil­lage

A STOLEN car was re­cov­ered in Church­town af­ter be­ing taken from Greater Manchester.

Mersey­side Po­lice re­cov­ered the stolen Vaux­hall Corsa parked on a road­side near to Church­town vil­lage af­ter re­ceiv­ing a call from a nearby res­i­dent.

The caller is un­der­stood to have be­lieved the car looked sus­pi­cious and no­ti­fied the force.

Of­fi­cers at­tended the ad­dress at around 12.45pm on Sun­day and, af­ter car­ry­ing out checks, iden­ti­fied the car as one which had been stolen from the Bolton area.

A spokesman for Merseys­die Po­lice said: “We were called at 12.45 on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 8 when some­body had re­ported a car which may have been stolen.

“We’ve at­tended and car­ried out checks and the car has been re­cov­ered.”
