Fire crews cut driver from van after Plaza crash
A DRIVER was cut out of a vehicle and airlifted to hospital after a car crash in Southport.
The incident took place at around 10.55am on Sunday, when Merseyside Police were called.
The collision, which took place near McDonald’s, on Ocean Plaza, involved a Ford Mondeo and a Citroën van.
The fire service attended, and had to cut the van driver out of the vehicle. An air ambulance also attended to take a driver to hospital after reports of neck pain.
Fortunately, it was later confirmed by the hospital that no life-threatening or serious injuries were sustained. After the incident, both vehicles were recovered and the collision blocked the road.
