Reds’ Cup hero to guest at char­ity din­ner

LIVER­POOL FC leg­end and BBC TV pun­dit Mark Lawren­son will make a guest ap­pear­ance at a sports­man’s din­ner the evening af­ter Liver­pool’s Cham­pi­ons League final against Real Madrid.

Lawro will meet guests at The Cock & Bot­tle pub in Tar­leton from 7pm on Sun­day.

Lawren­son, who was born nearby in Pen­wortham, started his ca­reer at Pre­ston North End be­fore later join­ing Liver­pool, where he won a num­ber of league ti­tles and other tro­phies, in­clud­ing the Euro­pean Cup in 1984.

Guests can en­joy a three-course din­ner, comic Lewis Big Lou Jones, an af­ter-din­ner speech and Q&A with Mark Lawren­son, and a DJ un­til late. Dress code is suit and boots.

The event will raise money for the Sharoe Green Ma­ter­nity Unit Baby Beat Ap­peal.
