POLICE want to speak to this man after a pensioner was threatened with a kitchen knife during a terrifying robbery at her home.

Detectives have now released CCTV of a man they wish to speak with following the robbery in Southport.

The 75-year-old victim suffered her ordeal after opening the door to the man at the property in Lime Street.

When she answered, the man entered the house brandishing a kitchen knife. He demanded the woman hand over cash before making off on foot with a small quantity of cash and two packets of cigarettes.

The robbery happened around 7pm in May 11 but police have now gone public with their CCTV appeal.

The woman was uninjured but police say has been left shaken.

Det Con Donna Oakley said: “While the woman was uninjured, this must have been extremely frightening and upsetting for her to have someone come into her home and threaten her in this way.

“We are particularly keen to speak to the man pictured or anyone who recognises him as he may be able to assist with our investigation.”

CCTV from the area has been examined and house to house inquiries carried out.

Detectives urge anyone who recognises this man, or the man himself to contact @MerPolCC or 101.
