Fancy that! A fun time for all at festival
CHILDREN are being asked to dress as dragons and princesses for the Southport Food and Drink Festival this weekend.
The event will be returning for the 12th year, and will take place from June 1 to 3 at Victoria Park.
In addition to the vast amount of food and drink on offer, there will also be a “children’s festival” corner.
This year, it has a theme of castles - for example, knights, princesses and dragons - and young ones are encouraged to go along in fancy dress.
There will also be a variety of activities on offer for the children, including face painting, bouncy castles and slides.
The event, which is organised by Sefton council, is free to enter and is expected to be bigger and better for 2018 as it has more stall holders lined up than ever.
There will also be live music suitable for people of all ages.
Sefton Council tourism officer Joanne Dwyer said: “The Food and Drink Festival has become a calendar event, and people tend to head down in groups and make a day of it. It is a great opportunity for a family day out, to enjoy good food and drink and relax.
“There is children’s entertainment, plenty of food and drink to work your way through, all we ask is that you please bring the sunshine.”
