Anyone for Quidditch?

Southport Visiter - - Visiter Active -

TO CELEBRATE the end of Sats week for Year 6 children, Birkdale Primary held a whole school celebration.

Before Christmas, the children helped transform the school into a magical place where writing was the focus in a special Harry Potter week.

This time, sport was the name of the game – in the form of Quidditch.

The juniors moved away from their usual “houses” of Mars, Venus, Saturn and Neptune and transformed with the help of the sorting hat into Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Matches took place throughout the day with visits from Hagrid and students of Hogwarts performing real magic for the infants.

Hufflepuff were the overall winners scoring more than 1000 points for their team.

The first ever Quidditch Cup was presented to Hufflepuff’s team captain, Zac Minshull from Year 6.

Birkdale Primary would like to thank Matt and Joe from Enrich Education and to Starkidz for providing the entertainment.
