IF YOU have a wildlife lover in the fam­ily, then a trip to Tur­bary Woods is sure to make them happy!

More than 90 birds of prey, in­clud­ing fal­cons, hawks, ea­gles, owls, vul­tures and lots more are all housed in the beau­ti­ful wood­land cen­tre near Pre­ston.

This res­cue and re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion cen­tre is staffed by pas­sion­ate and ded­i­cated con­ser­va­tion­ists who will en­sure you leave lov­ing the birds there as much as they do.

Wit­ness a fal­con take flight, feel the weight and won­der of a bird of prey and even spon­sor one to sup­port their work.

With daily fly­ing dis­plays, spe­cial events in school hol­i­days and ex­pe­ri­ence days on of­fer, there’s plenty of op­por­tu­nity to get close and per­sonal with your favourite winged friend, and af­ter­wards en­joy some­thing to eat and drink in the ad­ja­cent gar­den cen­tre.

A day at the cen­tre with these birds will be sure to make your spir­its soar! There is free par­tic­i­pa­tion in fly­ing dis­plays with free hold­ing of the birds and great photo op­por­tu­ni­ties.

The cen­tre is open all year round and the open­ing times are 10 10.30am-3.30pm. 30am 3 30pm

The daily fly­ing dis­plays are noon on week­days and 1pm on week­ends and school hol­i­days.

All of the fly­ing dis­plays are de­pen­dent on the weather be­ing suit­able. Ad­mis­sion costs: Fam­ily £15 (two adults and two chil­dren); Adults £5; Chil­dren £3; OAPs £3. Am­a­teur pho­tog­ra­phers: Ex­tra £5
