Driver in hospital after car flips on its roof

A DRIVER was taken to hospital after a car overturned in a crash on the Formby Bypass.
The incident took place on Sunday, August 26 at about 6.15pm on the busy road.
A Renault Clio had flipped onto its roof, and no other vehicles were said to be involved.
North West Ambulance Service attended the scene and took a patient to Southport Hospital with “minor injuries.”
The accident happened near the junction between the A565 and Southport Old Road, near RAF Woodvale.
The incident resulted in part of the road being closed while the vehicle was recovered.
A social media post from Merseyside police said: “Single vehicle RTC on Sunday, August 26 at 6.15pm involving a Renault Clio.
“No serious injuries and was a road closure south towards Formby, just after junction of Southport Old Road, while car was recovered.”
