STUDENTS and staff at Stanley High celebrated their GCSE results following the introduction of the new GCSE grading system for most subjects.

Neil Moore, the head teacher, said: “I am very proud of all our students who have worked hard to achieve their results, helped by hard-working staff and supportive families.

“We are especially pleased with the number of students achieving the new higher grades of 7-9 across the school, particularly within areas of the core curriculum.

“I wish all of the students every happiness and success.”
