Bring on the beer fest – it’s Oktober!
THE best of German entertainment will come to Southport this month as the town centre hosts a special Oktoberfest event.
Event specialist Elite Marquees is hosting the event to allow hundreds to enjoy German beers, bratwurst and live music.
Southport Oktoberfest will take place in the Town Hall Gardens and is being organised in conjunction with gin bar Remedy.
Headlining the event will be the Amazing Bavarian Stompers, a leading UK oompah band and resident band at the Leeds Bierkeller.
Also on offer at the event, which involves three sessions on October 19-20, will be a wide selection of German wines and gins.
As with previous gin festival events held by Remedy, five-drink tokens will be on sale.
It will be the first Oktoberfest event that Elite Marquees has organised but owner Mark Dilley is confident it can become an annual event in the Southport calendar.
He said: “We’ve been organising events for 15 years so we’re confident we can put on something people will love.
“We’re putting on the best entertainment and there’ll be a really good selection of drinks.
“My main aim is to make this an event that people are dying to get back to.”
Tickets are on sale now and, with a limited number available for each session.
Entry costs £20 per person, including the beer.
The three sessions take place at 6pm-11pm on Friday, October 19 and 12pm-5pm and 6pm11pm on Saturday, October 20.
