Women in­jured in col­li­sion

A WOMAN had to be cut free after her car over­turned in a crash on Satur­day.

Po­lice, fire and am­bu­lance ser­vices were all called to at­tend when two cars crashed at the junc­tion of Morn­ing­ton Road and Derby Road. The crash hap­pened at around 5.20pm and saw a Vaux­hall Corsa left on its side after col­lid­ing with a Toy­ota Land Cruiser.

Two women were treated for in­juries at the scene, one of whom was also taken to South­port Hos­pi­tal.

Her in­juries were de­scribed as “not ma­jor trauma” by a North West Am­bu­lance

Ser­vice spokesman.

Fire­fight­ers had to cut the ve­hi­cle in or­der to free the driver, who had be­come trapped.

Of­fi­cers from Mersey­side Po­lice were forced to close the road while a re­cov­ery ve­hi­cle re­moved the car, caus­ing de­lays for those leav­ing the Cen­tral 12 car park and the town cen­tre.
