Women injured in collision
A WOMAN had to be cut free after her car overturned in a crash on Saturday.
Police, fire and ambulance services were all called to attend when two cars crashed at the junction of Mornington Road and Derby Road. The crash happened at around 5.20pm and saw a Vauxhall Corsa left on its side after colliding with a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Two women were treated for injuries at the scene, one of whom was also taken to Southport Hospital.
Her injuries were described as “not major trauma” by a North West Ambulance
Firefighters had to cut the vehicle in order to free the driver, who had become trapped.
Officers from Merseyside Police were forced to close the road while a recovery vehicle removed the car, causing delays for those leaving the Central 12 car park and the town centre.
