Ease into autumn with visualisation
AFTER A SUMMER of sunny days and lazy evenings, the arrival of autumn can leave many of us feeling lacklustre.
Why not try some creative visualisation to help you hang onto that summer feeling?
Creative visualisation, whose fans include Oprah Winfrey and actor Jim Carrey, is a technique that uses the imagination to change our emotional state.
By creating a mental picture of something and focusing on this image, scenario or feeling for a period of time each day, we can make it a reality because our thoughts start to change the energy around us.
So, if you’re in need of a pick me up as the clocks go back, here’s what you can do to think yourself full of beans:
Find somewhere peaceful to sit and, in your mind’s eye, picture a ball of golden light hovering above you.
Slow your breathing, clear your mind and watch the ball float towards your chest and into your body.
As the light grows inside you feel it’s radiant energy vibrate through you, spreading a sunny warmth.
Practise this visualisation daily throughout the autumn to keep your spirits high.
