A range of gear is tested over a six-month period, including SEAC SUB’S F1 S fins, Shearwater Research’s Perdix dive computer and the Aqualung Argonaut dive knife.

The original Blade Fin was a big hit for Atomic Aquatics, garnering rave reviews as one of the better paddle fins on the market. The X1 Blade continues this theme, building on an already solid reputation but utilising a stiffer bi-moulded compound that, according to Atomic, gives the diver ultimate power in all finning and diving styles. It is also fitted as standard with Atomic Aquatics’ patented buckle system, which the Test Team has given the thumbs up in every Group Test it has appeared in. The X1 Blade comes in a range of five colours - yellow, blue, silver/ grey, red and black - for those that want to brighten up their diving apparel, but we have got the tech-friendly black version on test here. NB: the black is only available in medium, large and extra-large sizes.
