The FIM, mo­tor cy­cling’s world gov­ern­ing body, ap­pointed World Sport Group, the Sin­ga­pore-based sports mar­ket­ing agency, in a long-term deal to ex­clu­sively sell me­dia, spon­sor­ship and li­cens­ing rights in Asia, Ocea­nia and the Mid­dle East. The La­gardère-owned agency signed a four-year deal to mar­ket the rights to events man­aged and pro­moted by the FIM, in an agree­ment that also in­cludes the pro­vi­sion of man­age­ment and co-or­di­na­tion ser­vices for se­lected events in Asia (ex­clud­ing Ja­pan) and Ocea­nia.

Me­di­aset, the Ital­ian com­mer­cial broad­cast­ing group, agreed a three-year broad­cast rights deal with In­front Sports and Me­dia, the Switzer­land­based in­ter­na­tional sports mar­ket­ing agency, to show mo­tor cy­cling’s eni FIM Su­per­bike World Cham­pi­onship from 2013 on­wards. The deal came hot on the heels of the an­nounce­ment that Sky Italia, the Ital­ian paytele­vi­sion broad­caster, would re­place Me­di­aset as the Ital­ian home of the top-tier Mo­toGP World Cham­pi­onship from 2014 on­wards. Me­di­aset, which will broad­cast the Su­per­bike World Cham­pi­onship free to air on its Italia 1 chan­nel, has an op­tion to ex­tend the deal for a fur­ther three sea­sons.
