Fox Sports, the sports broad­cast­ing arm of 21st Cen­tury Fox, Ru­pert Mur­doch’s new­ly­named tele­vi­sion and film busi­ness, ac­quired in­ter­na­tional me­dia rights to the FIA For­mula E Cham­pi­onship, the planned new motor rac­ing series in­volv­ing elec­tric cars. Un­der the deal be­tween Fox and the series or­gan­is­ers, there will be broad­cast cov­er­age in 88 ter­ri­to­ries across six con­ti­nents when the rac­ing gets un­der way in Septem­ber 2014. Fox has se­cured ex­clu­sive rights in USA, where the races will be shown on Fox Sports 1, the new US na­tional ca­ble chan­nel, and ex­clu­sive or non-ex­clu­sive rights in coun­tries and re­gions in­clud­ing Canada, Latin Amer­ica and the Caribbean, the Nether­lands, Italy, Hong Kong, Malaysia, In­done­sia, Sin­ga­pore, Tai­wan, South Korea, Aus­tralia, In­dia and other parts of Asia and Africa.
