High­land Spring, the Scot­tish bot­tled wa­ter brand, signed up to serve as an of­fi­cial sup­plier of golf’s Ry­der Cup, the bi­en­nial team con­test be­tween Europe and USA, in 2014. The pres­ti­gious com­pe­ti­tion is tak­ing place in Scotland for only the sec­ond time, with Gleneagles in Perthshire act­ing as host in Septem­ber of next year. Un­der the deal with Ry­der Cup Europe, High­land Spring, which is the UK’s lead­ing bot­tled wa­ter brand and is based just five miles from the venue, will sup­ply bot­tled wa­ter both on and off the course.

Bridge­stone, the Ja­panese tyre man­u­fac­turer, ex­tended its ti­tle spon­sor­ship of the World Golf Cham­pi­onships event held at Akron in the US state of Ohio. The new four-year deal with the In­ter­na­tional Fed­er­a­tion of PGA Tours runs un­til 2018, and agree­ment has been reached for Fire­stone Coun­try Club to re­main the host venue of the World Golf Cham­pi­onships-Bridge­stone In­vi­ta­tional un­til the same year. Bridge­stone also ex­tended its of­fi­cial mar­ket­ing part­ner re­la­tion­ship with the PGA Tour through 2018 and will re­main the of­fi­cial tyre of the PGA Tour and Cham­pi­ons Tour.

Tiger Woods, the world’s num­ber one golfer from USA, ex­tended his en­dorse­ment deal with Nike, the US sports­wear gi­ant. Nike has sup­ported Woods, the win­ner of 14 ma­jors, since he turned pro­fes­sional in 1996 and this is the third time the part­ner­ship has been ex­tended, fol­low­ing on from 2001 and 2006.
