Atos, the international IT company which is a TOP sponsor of the International Olympic Committee, was appointed to develop a common data platform for the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations that will be used to provide a single point for results and biographical data of athletes. In what is described as “a first in the sport sector”, Atos will be responsible for creating a system that will offer data to organisers of events, including the Olympic Games, with improved information services for the media. The contract won by Atos covers delivery of the first phase of the International Sports Information System (ISIS) project in which international federations, through ASOIF, will take ownership and control of the collection, verification, distribution and exploitation of their sports data.
Infront Sports and Media, the Switzerlandbased international sports marketing agency, was appointed by FISI, the Italian winter sports federation, as its marketing agent and adviser in a fiveyear deal covering sponsorship sales and management that will also involve enhancing the federation’s brand. Along with managing key FISI sponsorships and finding new partners, Infront will be involved in the conceptual planning of events in Italy. The agency is already FISI’s media rights distribution partner for FIS World Cup races that take place in Italy.
