Two hands make light work…

Sporting Gun - - Rifle Skills -

QI AM trying to locate a copy of a DVD about your “Move Mount Shoot” technique. I am particularly interested in your advice on proper gun mounting.

John says: For a copy, please phone High Lodge Shooting School on 01986 784347 – one of my staff will be happy to help.

There’s no big secret to good gun mounting, the key is to keep things as smooth as possible, and not be in too much of a rush to get the stock to your shoulder. The two golden rules are to “push” the barrels at the target and “lift” the stock at the same time.

Avoid, at all costs, the habit of mounting the stock first, then lifting the barrels to the target. All you need to remember is that both hands share the work of aligning the barrels to the target.
