Great British service

Sporting Gun - - LETTER OF THE MONTH -

I have owned and used a Longthorne Hesketh over-and-under sidelock 12-bore for almost four years. They are fabulous guns, 100 per cent British made in the company’s own factory. It makes its own barrels, unlike many other gun makers in this country and these barrels are to their own, patented design and are probably the strongest shotgun barrels in the world.

I had my gun serviced after 12 months by Longthorne, which they did free of charge. During the three years since it,

I have shot thousands of cartridges through it, both at game and clays, without any problems.

At the end of the past game season,

I thought it was about time for another service, so I sent my gun off to Longthorne and the service was completed. Unfortunately, during transportation back to me, the fore-end was damaged. Longthorne told me to send the foreend back to them and they made a brand new one completely free of charge.

This is exemplary service from a great British gun company. Sincere thanks to Jim and Elaine Stewart, they are great people to deal with.

Ed – It’s good to hear that Longthorne looked after you so well, and I only wish I could afford one of its excellent guns.
