What’s it all about Alfie?

-

You may recall that the big lad comes into the house for an hour or so after the dogs have all been fed. I was touched by this, Alfie loved to come in and spend some time with us – particularly sitting next to me with his head on my knee being stroked. He is, after all, a one man, loyal loving dog!

Ha, I should be so lucky, it’s all a ruse. The Labs have always been fed separately in the house from Alfie and Dill in the kennels. It’s a little bit less hectic that way, considering Alfie’s lack of table manners! After feeding, the Labs will settle down and around an hour later they will get a Dentastix to nibble on, it does help clean their teeth. They do sit next to me for most of that hour with eyes glued to me, the word Dentastick is banned now, we whisper DS or all hell breaks loose!

No surprise that the big lad has picked up on this, so I can forget the quality time with his adoring head on my knee. He bounds into the kitchen, laps up gallons of water liberally spraying it over all and sundry only then to sit next to the bench staring at the top shelf, where the DS is kept!
