2017 FITASC European Sporting Championships to be held in UK
The 50th FITASC European Sporting Championship is to take place at Lulworth Castle in Dorset, from 8-11 June this year; Purbeck Events have been appointed organisers by FITASC.
International course designer Graham Brown, of Purbeck Shooting School, decided on Lulworth as the ideal venue for this year’s event thanks to its easy air and sea access from Europe, its beautiful location at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, and its proximity to plenty of local accommodation and visitor attractions.
The competition itself runs over four days with competitors shooting 50 targets per day. A trade village will be in situ for the duration of the event, with a country fair taking place alongside the late-afternoon title shoot-offs.
Amy Latham, events coordinator at Purbeck Shooting School, commented: “Annually, the event travels around Europe and has not visited Great Britain for many years. It is a privilege and a very unique opportunity to be able to hold this event and it cannot be understated how much the reputation of Graham Brown and Purbeck Shooting School has had in securing this decision. The event will gain huge media coverage including television, and will be the most celebrated shooting event held within Europe during the calendar year.”
