Faulds flies at Westfield
The first England Sporting Team selection shoot of 2017 was held at Westfield Shooting Ground, where 353 competitors took to what would prove to be a very challenging course set over 14 stands.
Fortunately the weather was dry and bright for the majority of the two days, but the scores remained low nonetheless, with just 14 shooters managing to break the 90 mark.
Top of the pile was Richard Faulds, who blitzed the course to finish on a 97, four targets clear of joint runners-up Scott Barnett, Martin Doughty and Martin Myers.
Ladies went to Emma Stacey with an 82, while C Soanes took Colts on 67 alongside T Woodcock. J Bennion and F Whitehurst finished joint first in Juniors, with A Thompson collecting the win in Vets with an 87.
Faulds declared after the event that he would be hoping to represent England again for the first time in several years, and his victory was part of an impressive weekend of achievement following his win on 99 ex 100 at Atkin, Grant & Lang on the Friday, his 97 at Westfield on the Saturday, and a 98 at Podimore on the Sunday.
