Tummy trouble

Sporting Shooter - - Gundog Experts -

My 14-month-old Lab is suffering from soft stools. Sometimes it is okay, then others it is soft or quite wet, and yellow in colour. I am not sure whether to change her food or not.

VICKY PAYNE replies: Intermittent soft stools can be seen with infections including giardia and campylobacter. I recommend asking your vet to have a three-day pooled faecal sample (a bit of stool from three consecutive days) analysed.

If this comes back as normal, I would suggest you look for a highly digestible food (high meat content) and add a probiotic supplement. I like Pet Plus which also contains digestive enzymes and antioxidants.
