Our monthly competition to find the stars of our 2018 calendar

We are once again teaming up with quality working dog food brand Chudleys to bring you the Sporting Shooter Gundog Calendar competition – a gundog photography competition to find the best snaps for a special 2018 calendar.

Each month we will be selecting the best photographs sent in by you, the readers, and printing them in the magazine for all to admire. Towards the end of the year, the 12 best photos will be selected by our panel of judges to appear in our 2018 calendar, which will then be sent out with the January edition of Sporting Shooter, guaranteeing you at least one smile a month for the whole year!

So, if you take a photo you are particularly proud of – whether your dog is at work, rest, or play – send it our way via email or post, and your pride and joy could win a place on the calendar! Just remember to include your name and a short caption, and we’ll do the rest.

There is no limit on how many photos, or how many times, you can enter the competition, but you must not be a professional photographer, and it’s essential that any photos you send us are of a suitable quality for print. The easiest way to achieve this is to take the photos on a digital camera (not on a smartphone) and send us the original file. As a guide, file sizes should be no smaller than 1MB.

Every month we’ll publish a selection of the best entries we’ve received during the previous month to give you an idea of what you’re up against – and you might even spot your own photo here!

So, give Fido’s coat a brush, grab your camera, and get snapping! Good luck!
