New vicar wel­comed

MORE than 300 guests at­tended a ser­vice of in­stal­la­tion and in­duc­tion for the new vicar at St Mary’s in Sun­bury.

The ser­vice was held on Wed­nes­day May 4 to launch the min­istry of Fa­ther An­drew Downes at Church Street church.

Pre­sid­ing over the event was the Bishop of Kens­ing­ton, the Rt Rev Dr Gra­ham Tom­lin, and the Archdea­con of Mid­dle­sex, the Ven Stephan Welch. the

The fi­nal bless­ing was given by the re­tired Arch­bishop of Cen­tral Africa, the Most Rev Wal­ter Makhulu.

Fr Downes was wel­comed into his new min­istry by, among oth­ers, Spelthorne MP Kwasi Kwarteng.
