Student leadership team at St Paul’s meets MP

Staines Informer - - NEWS -

STUDENTS at a Sunbury school welcomed MP Kwasi Kwarteng for a tour of the facilities.

The visit on Friday April 29 followed the recent success of St Paul’s Catholic College, which has been nationally recognised for the second year running for its exceptional 2015 performance by the Schools, Students and Teachers network (SSAT).

During his visit the MP met James McNulty, acting headteacher, and the Student Leadership Team, where talks focused on how the school had gone from strength to strength over the last few years.

The MP also had a guided tour of St Paul’s, allowing him the opportunity to see classes in action.

Mr Kwarteng remarked that he very much enjoyed his visit and seeing the continuing transformation that the school is undergoing, he added: “I was impressed by the school’s focused and driven leadership and by its charming and confident students. Now in the top 10% of schools nationally for both attainment and progress recognised by the SSAT, St Paul’s is a school continuing down a path of genuine transformation that began some 10 years ago.

“In addition to this proud academic record, St Paul’s has a strong sense of community that creates an environment where students are happy and supported.

“I look forward to visiting the school again in the near future”.
