Marvin’s ready for the cycle challenge
THE owner of a Staines business is getting ready for a 60-mile cycling challenge to raise money for the fight against prostate cancer.
Marvin Winthrop, of tailoring business The ZipYard, will set off from London to Oxford on June 26 for the Prostate Cancer Research Centre.
Marvin said: “I was diagnosed with prostate cancer over a year ago which has meant the past 12 months has been tough for my family and me. We’ve soldiered on leading our lives as normally as we possibly can.
“I’ve carried on working at The ZipYard in Staines and even bought a second ZipYard centre in Bournemouth.”
Last year, Marvin joined thousands in the Palace to Palace Challenge, cycling 45 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle.
He said: “I really enjoyed the Palace to Palace challenge and I’m pleased I’m in a position where I can physically still raise money for such a great cause.
“I’ve been training hard for my upcoming cycle but I can’t wait to do it.”
