Flavours and sights of Thailand
A TWO-day festival celebrating the culture and beauty of Thailand has been held in Runnymede for the first time.
The Thailand Culture Festival at Runnymede Meadows earlier this month was organised by KaJinUK, showcasing the best of Thai arts and crafts, street food and entertainment. This included a ladyboy competition, live music, a Thai beauty contest and a Thai massage.
The Mayor of Runnymede, Councillor Alan Alderson and deputy mayor Cllr Iftikhar Chaudhri attended.
Supported by Singha Beer, the event included a children’s fashion show from event sponsor JAL. There was also a Thai supermarket and cooking demonstrations to give visitors ideas for creating their favourite Thai dishes.
KaJinUK is the brainchild of Jintana Nacharee, with the company name derived from a simple Thai greeting ‘Ka’ followed by ‘Jin’.
