Store staff set for three peaks

A STORE man­ager from Farn­bor­ough is to reach new heights next week – as he leads a team of char­ity fundrais­ers walk­ing the three high­est moun­tains in Bri­tain.

Peter Moate, store man­ager of the Co- op in NEWS Farn­bor­ough Park, is lead­ing a team of 10 store man­agers from Sur­rey and Hamp­shire as they take on Ben Ne­vis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snow­don in the three peaks chal­lenge to raise money for the Bri­tish Red Cross, the Co- op’s char­ity part­ner.

Peter said: “When I sug­gested at a team meet­ing we should at­tempt the three peaks chal­lenge I didn’t think I would get much of a re­sponse, but nine col­leagues im­me­di­ately signed up for it. We’re hope­ful of rais­ing £ 10,000 for the Bri­tish Red Cross, and our NEWS cus­tomers have al­ways been so gen­er­ous we’re con­fi­dent of achiev­ing it.”

The team will at­tempt the chal­lenge on Wednesday and Thurs­day next week.
