Mannequin sales nets charity cash

THE Aviator Hotel took the concept of ‘ fundraising for dummies’ to new heights last week by raising money for a local cause.
The hotel collected a total of £ 930 for the Community Matters Partnership Project ( CMPP) by auctioning off the hotel’s iconic Christmas mannequins.
CMPP is a group of companies and organisations working together as a local network to engage and support the community.
The mannequins had been used by the hotel in their 2014 and 2015 Christmas campaigns and were ready to move onto a new destination but rather than give them away, the team at the Aviator decided to auction them off.
The Aviator listed the mannequins on the silent auction website Jumble Bee and the £ 930 raised will be donated to the Youth Aspiration Fund, developed by CMPP to support projects within the community that raise aspirations and encourage progression in young people.
Vickita Reddy, marketing and PR manager at the Aviator, said: “Since Aviator opened in 2008, we’ve been great supporters of our local community and when we were given the opportunity to become one of the founding members of CMPP in 2010, we relished it.
“The project and all the life changing work it does in the local community has been very close to our hearts ever since, and it is an honour to play an integral part of a forward thinking social programme.”
