Sarah boosts her recovery at Curves
“I originally joined curves in 2009 and really enjoyed the workouts.
In September 2011 I suffered a prolapsed disc and had surgery in December of that year.
“Unfortunately the surgery didn’t go as planned and I was left with no feeling or movement in my right foot and numbness up to the knee. I was also in considerable pain.
The following 18 months saw various procedures with no results.
“Then in March 2015, I underwent an experimental procedure and it worked! The pain had gone and I had some feeling back. I gradually improved and set myself a goal of returning to Curves!
“In December 2015, I gave up my walking stick and in January 2016 I joined Curves again after almost five years.
The staff were fantastic. I was so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to do it or I would get in people’s way but they coaxed me round the first few times and I have gone from strength to strength.
“I love being able to exercise again. I feel stronger and confident, I can walk properly again and the feeling is returning in my leg!
“Exercising at Curves has really helped my recovery, physically and mentally.”
