THAI restaurant Giggling Squid in Guildford is coming up to one year old, so I returned to see if the chain had changed since day one.
Just as I remembered, the entrance off Chapel Street was bright, airy and above all inviting.
The friendly staff guided us to a table by the window and handed us each a menu brimming with delicious sounding dishes.
New to the tempting lineup is stand up seabass, seared garnished steak and DIY bundles.
The latter you may wonder, is a bit of fun. You are served chopped and sliced tiger prawns, shallot, lime, peanuts, lemongrass, chilli, salad leaves, mint and a hot and sour chilli and garlic dressing for you to bundle up yourself in wraps.
A Thai waitress took our drink orders – Luscombe Bubbly Elderflower for him and a glass of Prosecco for me – and quickly returned
Seared scallops were pan fried and looked amazing.
