10 best venues to eat out and still be healthy

IF your New Year’s res­o­lu­tion was to eat healthily but you still want to dine out, we have some sug­ges­tions for you.

Low- calo­rie menus are spring­ing up in pubs, cafés and restau­rants across Sur­rey, but some venues pride them­selves on serv­ing healthy food all year round.

Here are the county’s top healthy restau­rants, ac­cord­ing to TripAd­vi­sor re­view­ers.

There are some sur­prises among the list – and plenty of places miss­ing. So let us know if any of your favourites should be in­cluded. THE quaint vil­lage pub with 12 bou­tique rooms is renowned for its ex­cep­tional food, ex­quis­ite wines and warm hos­pi­tal­ity.

Nearly ev­ery­thing served at is is veg­e­tar­ian with many gluten- free dishes on of­fer too. They like va­ri­ety and use sea­sonal pro­duce, so hot dishes and many of the cakes change daily.

THE UK’s first Pa­leo café and pantry, which opened in Septem­ber 2015, fol­lows the trendy Pa­leo di­etary regime which ad­vo­cates whole, un­pro­cessed and nu­tri­ent­dense foods.

It serves dairy- free, grain­free, re­spon­si­bly sourced break­fasts, lunches and snacks to eat in or take away. High Street,

SERV­ING mod­ern Tapas in­spired by flavours and pro­duce from Spain, Italy and Eng­land, this restau­rant of­fers an imag­i­na­tive menu of small dishes de­signed for shar­ing. IT may come as a sur­prise, but this JD Wether­spoon pub is ranked highly in Sur­rey’s top healthy restau­rants, ac­cord­ing to re­view­ers.

The chain of­fers a va­ri­ety of dishes with calo­ries stated on the menu, in­clud­ing sal­ads, pas­tas, small plates and grills in­clud­ing the ‘ Skinny Sir­loin Steak’.
