FINALLY! CORRIS SECURES OLD STATION SITE
The Corris Railway has bought the area of an old station site that was used for many years as a medical centre. The portable building at Corris, which was an obstacle to the railway’s ambitions to provide complete station facilities, closed in January 2015. The CR has cleared and fenced the site and extended the track by 1½ rail lengths in time for the May Bank Holiday weekend. When a carriage has been adapted to provide a brake compartment at the downhill end, trains can start running with the engine leading uphill. Long-term plans include the building of a run-round loop.
