BLACK 5S AT CALLANDER
In the summer of 1961 the scenic Callander & Oban line was still a busy railway and here we see a pair of ‘Black 5s’, Nos. 44881 and 44929, double-heading. At Callander, No. 45049 runs light engine to shunt the goods yard.
BASINGSTOKE IN 1966
At Basingstoke in early October 1966, we see a number of ‘Light Pacifics’, starting with No. 34088, 213 Squadron, then No. 34044 Woolacombe and finally No. 34009 Lyme Regis making a classic slippery start.
