mark al­latt steps down in a1 trust reshuf­fle

Af­ter 16 years as chair­man of the A1 Steam Lo­co­mo­tive Trust, Mark Al­latt has stepped down to con­cen­trate on ‘P2’ No. 2007 Prince of Wales. In ad­di­tion to act­ing as the project direc­tor for the new-build Gres­ley ‘Mikado’, he will con­tinue as a trustee of the ‘A1’ group, and con­trib­ute to its mar­ket­ing, PR and fundrais­ing ac­tiv­i­ties - of which he has been at the fore­front for 26 years. Op­er­a­tions Direc­tor Graeme Bunker’s role as Chair­man of the Tor­nado Steam Trac­tion Ex­ec­u­tive will be ex­panded, and he will be as­sisted by Lt Col. Huw Parker as deputy, and David Wright of Lo­co­mo­tive Main­te­nance Ser­vices as Run­ning En­gi­neer. A new trustee is Gra­ham Langer, ed­i­tor of the house jour­nals The Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Cord, The Tor­nado Tele­graph and Mikado Mes­sen­ger, while se­nior rail ex­ec­u­tive Paul Bruce has been ap­pointed as an ad­vi­sor to the trustees to lead plans for its main line ser­vic­ing fa­cil­ity at Dar­ling­ton.
