61673: Vehicle Acceptance Body approval has been obtained for the chassis design of ‘B17’ Spirit of Sandringham, allowing the assembly of the frames to take place this year. The dragbox and brake stay will be fitted first at the Llangollen Railway workshops, while William Cook of Sheffield is to produce the other cast frame stays and spring hangers. 84030: A casting has been produced for the sanding valve of the BR ‘2MT’ 2‑6‑2T at the Bluebell Railway, while the driver’s brake valve is being machined. Fitting of the vacuum pipework continues, while all six axleboxes and their underkeeps are ready for the wheeling of the frames. BROWN BEAR: The running plates have been fitted to the Groudle Glen Railway’s 2‑4‑0T. Its bottom half is largely complete, with the boiler to be constructed this year, for a target steaming date of 2018.
