1014 rolls forward

Assembly of the boiler for 4‑6‑0 No. 1014 County of Glamorgan will move forward this year, with the new tapered boiler barrel having been rolled by West Midlands firm Barnshaws. The overhaul of the firebox, from ‘8F’ No. 48518, is almost complete at Crewe (pictured), with only the last few stays and foundation ring rivets still to be fitted.
